Patna, (Bihar Times): In another election-eve exercise the state government on Monday shifted several police officers and posted Malar Vij, the present SP of Gaya, as the first SSP of Patna.
In all 19 IPS officers have been shifted. The Election Commission’s Model Code of Conduct for the coming Lok Sabha election is likely to come into effect next week.
The government notification said that the Muzaffarpur zone ADG Krishna Chowdhary has been made director of Bihar Police Academy (BPA). He will take charge from A S Nimbran, who was the first director of BPA, which is coming up at Rajgir, in addition to his assignment as ADG (railway).
Darbhanga zone ADG A C Verma is now ADG (modernisation) which was under the additional charge of ADG Shafi Alam (training).
Tirhut range DIG R S Bhatti, a 1990-batch officer, has been promoted and made IG of Muzaffarpur zone. Three officers of 1991 batch have also been promoted to IG rank. They are Magadh range DIG Praveen Vashishtha who has been made Darbhanga IG, Bettiah DIG Preeta Verma who has been sent to CID as IG with additional charge of Economic Offences Wing, and Darbhanga range DIG Vinay Kumar, who has been made IG (special branch).
The notification also said that the DIG (provision) Anupama Nirlekar will take charge from Vahishta as Magadh range DIG. Patna DIG-cum-SSP Amit Kumar has been appointed Munger DIG in place of Bhrigu Srinivasan who has been shifted to Tirhut range in the same capacity. DIG (personnel) K K Verma will replace Bhagalpur DIG Raghunath Prasad Singh who has been made DIG (provisions) with additional charge of DIG (administration). DIG (administration) Baldeo Prasad goes to Darbhanga in the same capacity.
Kishanganj SP M R Naik will ne mew SP of Gaya with additional charge of BMP-3. BMP-3 commandant S Raveendran is the new Aurangabad SP in place of Ganesh Kumar who has been made AIG (Q).
Ajitabh Kumar, who was waiting for posting, becomes SP (CID). Muzaffarpur SRP Amit Lodha has been made commandant of Muzaffarpur-headquartered BMP-6, replacing Ram Narain Singh who has been made SP of Kishanganj.
