Patna, Feb 17 :A case was filed in a Bihar court Tuesday against Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and five officials of Indian Railway Construction Corporation (IRCON) following the collapse of a bridge under construction over a rail line in Muzaffarpur district Monday.
Three people were killed and four injured Monday when the bridge under construction collapsed at Amgola in the district, 70 km from the state capital.
The case against Lalu Prasad and five officials of IRCON was filed in the court of the chief judicial magistrate in Muzaffarpur, official sources in the court said.
The case was filed by local residents, who have blamed Lalu and five officials of IRCON for the collapse.
Following the collapse, local residents held a protest and blocked the rail line. They also set ablaze two generator sets of IRCON.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has ordered a probe into the accident.
