Patna, (Bihar Times): Deputy chief minister-cum-finance minister, Sushil Kumar Modi, on Wednesday presented a Rs 47,446 crore revenue surplus budget in the state assembly.
Modi said the government would seek a vote-on-account for the first four months of the fiscal. He said it is a revenue and primary surplus budget where fiscal deficit is being contained within the limits prescribed by fiscal responsibility in Budget Management Act.
The state’s finance minister said revenue surplus would be used for infrastructure development and generating productive capital assets like roads, buildings, power, schools, health centres and irrigation.
He said the capital outlay has increased from Rs 8,329 crore in 2008-09 to Rs 9,645 crore in 2009-10 which is as much as eight times the capital outlay of Rs 1,205 crore in 2004-05.
