Patna, (Bihar Times): All the display galleries of the Patna Museum remained closed for the seventh day on Tuesday due to the indefinite strike by the non-gazetted employees. They have been on strike since January 7.
According to the Museum Director, Umesh Chandra Dwivedi, the display galleries could not be opened in the absence of the employees. Only two employees who are to retire in the next couple of weeks have not joined the strike. They come to the Museum to open the office rooms enabling the officials to sit.
The strike has affected the illumination shows at the Musuem. It has been installed by Phillips India. This special lighting was scheduled to be completed before January 14 for inauguration on that day.
The closure of Museum is causing a huge loss of revenue amounting to nearly Rs 50,000. The visitors, especially those from outside Patna, are dismayed over the prolong closure of the Museum.
