Patna, (Bihar Times): Fed up with the repeated complaints of widespread corruption Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday announced cash incentives for youth who would help arrest corrupt officials.
Addressing the youth on Wednesday he reiterated them to eliminate corruption from the government. He said any youth who would help arrest corrupt officers would be given Rs 10,000 to 50,000 as award and would also get two per cent from the assets seized from these officials. A similar announcement was made in Patna a couple of months back but so far no one has been arrested.
The cases of corruption against any officer would be put to speedy trials and the assets of such officers would be seized. Appropriate legislation would be brought in the next assembly session.
The chief minister said money alloted to projects would be expeditiously spent and the government would tighten noose on anybody found indulging in corrupt practices.
Dwelling on the need for unity among Hindu, Muslims, Kumar said people should rise above caste and community to pitch for development.
