Patna, (Bihar Times): A large number of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena activists attacked Biharis at a function in Nasik on the occasion of the Republic Day on Monday. Many of those present there received injuries.
Ironically the Biharis were targeted when they were busy organizing a programme to pay tributes to all those who laid down their lives during the recent Mumbai terror attack.
Reports from Mumbai said that though the police was present no attempt was made to save the Biharis from the goons of the Sena.

What a shame to all of us including Bihar Government in general and the Central Government in particular? How Gondas of MNS are allowed to attack the innocent people? It seems that there is no law enforced in the country. It gives clear cut indications that the law of India has been made to curb and hurt the poor people.
Come on politicians, please stand together and act to ban these miscreants to ensure the safety of the innocent people. Just to have the political mileage, none of the political party comes forward to even condemn openly about this horrendous and heinous crime.
Where is Mr Pranab Mukherji? Why does he not say anything on this incidence? Republic day comes in a year and it used to be extremely joyful moment for every Indian to celebrate and MNS members attacked them. How bad it is? There are no words to express the feelings. Those who feel can realise the agony of humiliation. It is not the attack on the Biharis rather I consider it on India's unity and sovereignty. MNS are no less than the stateless actors who are the most inhuman animals on this planet. They should be impeached under terrorist act and should be punished severely to spread the message to all those who are about to follow the same path. Otherwise many new parties will be formed everyday and many innocent people will be victimised on regional basis. And we will be hearing, watching on TV, writing a letter and blaming each other but the issue will be unfinished.
India is facing difficulty to fight against terrorism and these sena is unnecessarily creating the havoc and providing chance to others to finger out the incompatibility. Are we not compatible? Are we not allowed to live, travel, own properties in other states? Are we not having the same rights like others? Jago congress government and show the solidarity and responsibility to all states equally. Otherwise, the time is not far, when people will ask you but you will not be able to respond.

i have been out of bihar for the last 37 yrs.first 6 yrs in germany when it was west germany and rest in the united states.united states have 50 states and washington d.c.people here move on a regular basis on the availability of the jobs,quality of education for the children,healthcare and entertainment for their family.no one ever raises an eyebraw over why so many people from other state move to their state.united states is one nation,one people.here all citizens are americans and can settle in any part of the country they choose to do so.is india not one nation?if it is not then we should go all separate ways.bihar has given india it's history.there is very little history of india.history of india is the history of bihar.
finally,we indians should decide if we want to be one nation or go our separate ways as during the british raj.do we want again 540 kingdoms in india.if not,then behave like a nation.maharashtra day is celeberated in the u.s every year.i do not see americans coming out rampaging this event and beating up people.shame on maharastriyans who tolerate these acts from one of their own.most indians in the north and east and west should know if it was not from the geographical and population protection of u.p and bihar you have been swallowed by pakistan or bangladesh by now.
