Patna, (Bihar Times): The national spokesman and general secretary of the Rashtriya Janata Dal and former Bihar minister, Shyam Rajak, on Wednesday resigned from all the party posts.
In a letter to the party president and railway minister, Lalu Prasad Yadav, he sighted personal reason for his resignation. Apart from being the national spokesman and general secretary Rajak was also a member of 11-member core committee of the party and was considered too close to Lalu.
However, the insiders in RJD say that some senior party leaders were irked over his proactive role in the party and were engaged in leg-pulling. However, a day before sending his resignation he told newsmen that he has been a Lalu supporter and would remain so in the future. He also said that he wants to remain away from the active politics for some time and take rest.
Party sources said that despite his resignation from party posts, Rajak had made it clear that he was still loyal to Lalu Prasad. The legislator from Phulwarisharief in Patna district said he was eager to contest next parliament polls from a reserved seat.
