Upset Janata Dal (United) workers create scene at Rajgir Camp

Patna, (Bihar Times): Unruly scenes marred the three-day Chintan Shivar of the ruling Janata Dal (United) in Rajgir on the second day on Wednesday. The situation went so much out of control that the chief minister, Nitish Kumar, had to rebuke his own party workers.

The workers, especially those hailing from Saharsa and Madhepura districts, were angry that they have not been given chance to speak and vent their grievances. Some of them were even heard complaining that all the development works have been shifted to Nalanda ignoring the claim of other places.

Coming to the defence of the organizers Nitish said that conducting the programme is no easy job and that those complaining that they had not been given chance would certainly get the opportunity to speak. However, the chief minister’s stern warning failed to yield any positive result and pandemonium continued for quite some time.

Through this camp the Janata Dal (United) wanted to prove its point before the alliance partner the BJP that it should contest much more seats in the coming parliamentary election than in the 2004 as the party base has since increased. The Janata Dal (United) fought 24 and BJP 16 seats last time. However, both the parties won five seats each.

The BJP leadership is not going to take this claim lying down as a powerful section wants to assert itself.
