Patna,(BiharTimes): Notorious don of Kosi belt, Awadesh Mandal, was on Wednesday arrested and sent to jail for brutally thrashing his MLA wife, Bima Bharati.
According to police she was badly beaten up by her husband over some domestic disputes.

Bima, who got registered a case against her husband, Awadesh, won on the ruling Janata Dal (United) ticket from Rupauli assembly constituency in Purnia district last month.
Earlier she used to represent the constituency as an RJD legislator, but switched sides just on the eve of the Assembly election.
She was allegedly beaten by her husband, who is a member of the Purnia District Board.
In an FIR lodged with Bhawanipur police station the MLA charged her busband with assaulting her at their house at Bhitha village on Tuesday evening.
The police arrested Awadesh Mandal and brought him to Bhawanipur police station for interrogation. Bharati was later referred to Patna for further treatment after she received first aid at a government hospital in Purnia.
Awadesh has over two dozen cases of murder, dacoity and extortion pending against him.
