JD(U), BJP state chiefs hold first joint Press conference after spat

Patna,(BiharTimes): Till a week back the leaders of both these alliance partners had been accusing and abusing each other. On Thursday the state presidents of both Janata Dal (United) and BJP jointly held a Press conference to announce that the two parties would together contest the assembly election to be held in October.

Dr C P Thakur and Vijay Kumar Chaudhary––sometimes back they both were in Congress––are today the state president of the BJP and Janata Dal (United) respectively. On Thursday they announced that there is no rift in the ruling NDA in Bihar. Both BJP and JD(U) were together in the past, are together today and will remain together in future, they proclaimed.

This was the first joint Press conference organized by the state president of both the parties in Patna after chief minister Nitish Kumar almost snatched the plates from in front of the BJP bigwigs on June 12 and then return Rs five crore Kosi flood relief fund to Gujarat government on June 19.
The two leaders said that everything is normal and the two parties are preparing for the Assembly elections.

Chaudhary denied that there was any differences within the NDA over the contentious issue of seat-sharing.
Political observers view Thursday’s Press conference as an attempt to bring together the party rank and file as there is confusion and resentment at the lower level. Incidentally both the BJP and Janata Dal United workers are not convinced on the way Nitish Kumar played the whole politics. They are of the view that, after so much drama, neither Muslims nor Hindus are going to accept that everything is all right within the alliance.
