New Delhi, July 5 (IANS) Congress party chief Sonia Gandhi Monday wished Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) president Ram Vilas Paswan on his 64th birthday. Congress leaders said it was a courtesy call and no political meaning should be read into it.

"Sonia-ji had called up to wish Paswan-ji on his birthday," sources in the LJP told IANS.

Ashok Kumar, leader of the Congress legislative party in Bihar, told IANS: "It was a normal courtesy call and no political meaning should be read into it", adding that the party will go it alone in the upcoming Bihar assembly elections.

Paswan was the chemicals and fertilisers minister in United Progressive Alliance-I and has had a cordial relationship with Sonia Gandhi.
