31/07/2010 Kamdhenu Foods launches food-packet service
Women who form the SHG under Kamdhenu are involved in cooking. They prepare the food under the guidance of Ashutosh, an IHM alumnus who was working at a premier hotel in Patna. He found the idea very appealing and joined the initiative with an objective to not only serve people good food but also empower women to become entrepreneurs. The food is delivered to the offices in hot cases. The concept has found acceptance among many. “I had this meeting and was wondering to get some good food at a good price. I called up Kamdhenu. Within an hour I get this dabba. The food was delicious and the hot case had kept it warm. I had not experienced such a service in Patna. The price is also very attractive. This is something that Patna needed. Good food at affordable prices”, one of the customers told BiharTimes. Kamdhenu Foundation, spearheaded by Ms Jyotsana Sinha, works with a team which is young and go-getter. “I joined the initiative because I want to be an entrepreneur. Kamdhenu provides that platform”, said Mrigendra. His other team members, Ankita and Abhishek, also echoed his feeling. “We are learning a lot from the work here at Kamdhenu. The Foundation gives you the opportunity of building your own business in the areas of your interest. The best part is the hands-on training we are getting which would surely be very useful to us in further study as well as our own business”, they told BiharTimes.
The executives in Patna have been missing this for so long. Most admiring facts of this initiative is that people at the bottom of pyramid and especially poor women will reap the benefit of it. ------------------------- Very good initiative.
