Devotees blame Patna Municipal Corporation for filth around ghats

Patna,(BiharTimes): Unlike in the past those who observe Chhath are not happy with the arrangements made by the government. Neither the railways run any special trains for the devotees to return home to observe the festival nor various civic bodies cleaned ghats. Even in the state capital, Patna, the situation is pathetic.

As if that was not enough Ganga gradually shifted further north, at least in Patna, to make it more difficult for the devotees to perform the rituals.
Devotees blame Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) for the deplorable state of affairs on ghats all along Ganga in Patna. The story of other towns on the banks of Ganga is no different. Even garbages and filth were not removed from ghats.
Most devotees have now made up their mind to offer arghya to the Sun God at ponds or lakes in their vicinity and not in Ganga.
Devotees are getting contaminated and dirty water to perform Kharna. Some devotees have to visit several ghats to fetch clean water for this ritual.
However, at many places local volunteers have cleaned ghats, roads and streets. They have made lighting arrangements on the streets and ghats.
