New Delhi, Oct 5 (IANS) Janata Dal-United (JD-U) president Sharad Yadav has sought action against some publications in Bihar carrying 'paid news' in the run-up to the October-November assembly polls, a party leader said Tuesday.
Yadav raised the issue and the problems faced by the JD-U from some other parties that have similar election symbols during a meeting with the Election Commission here, party general secretary Javed Raza told IANS.

The JD-U chief told the poll panel that the poll symbols of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and the Shiv Sena were similar to those of the JD-U, and the similarity had created confusion among the voters earlier, resulting in the loss of votes to several JD-U candidates.
He told reporters that he raised the issue of 'paid news', which was still prevalent in Bihar.
The JD-U, the major partner in the ruling alliance in Bihar, is contesting about 140 of the 243 seats in the state.
