JD(U)-BJP, RJD-LJP alliances are spent forces: Nagmani Patna,(BiharTimes): Former Union Minister Nagmani, and his wife, Suchitra Singh, a ruling Janata Dal (United) MLA, are all set to formally join the Congress on Monday. Nagmani, who also served as the Agriculture Minister in the Nitish Kumar Cabinet before switching over to RJD on the eve of the 2009 Lok Sabha election, said both the ruling Janata Dal (United)-BJP and RJD-LJP combine are spent forces and neither of them would return to power. The Congress is set to form the next government in Bihar as people are looking at it with great hope and expectations, he told newsmen after his return from New Delhi on Saturday. Among others he met Sonia Gandhi in New Delhi. He said the AICC president had accepted his request to join the Congress. He charged that the NDA government led by Nitish Kumar is a total failure on all fronts and is not going to come to power after the coming assembly election. Claiming that he is a tested and experienced leader, who ensures victory to the alliance or party, which he backs in the state Nagmani, a senior Koeri leader, said now the Congress stands a fair chance of returning to power in Bihar after a gap of 20 years. Nagmani, who had unsuccessfully contested the Lok Sabha polls from Chatra in Jharkhand last year claimed that a large number of Rashtriya Janata Dal leaders are set to join the Congress party.
