Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s announcement not to contest the Bihar Assembly election has once again been interpreted as a sign of weakness by the RJD chief Lalu Yadav.
|
Speaking on the occasion of the joining of RJD by Janata Dal (United) vice president, Ram Bihari Singh, he said that Nitish is wary of facing the electorate as he had failed on all fronts.
He said that Nitish had lost all hopes of getting Muslim votes as he had publicly shook hands with the RSS poster-boy and Gujarat chief minister, Narendra Modi.
Two more Janata Dal leaders, Faizan Ahmed and Shailendra Yadav and Congress leader, Anmol Giri, joined the RJD on Wednesday.
Nitish is a member of the Bihar Legislative Council and had earlier this month said that he was unlikely to contest the Assembly election as he was already an MLC and had two-three years left to complete his term. He had also said that he would concentrate on electioneering for NDA to complete the development works undertaken in the state.
An upbeat Lalu blamed the Nitish government for sending an ill-equipped police team to take on the Maoists in Kajra hills in Lakhisarai district which led to the killing of seven policemen and abduction of four others.
