Nitish flays party MP Monazir Hasan on Narendra Modi issue

Patna,(BiharTimes): After allowing senior party leaders to attack the BJP on the issue of campaign by Narendra Modi chief minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday suddenly took another U-turn when he said that he had warned all his partymen not to air their views on this subject publicly. In this context he publicly criticized the Janata Dal (United) MP, Monazir Hasan, for speaking against the Gujarat chief minister.

Talking to newsmen he said Monazir Hassan should not forget that he was earlier a minister and then became a Lok Sabha member with the support of BJP. It is very sad to hear such things from Monazir Hassan, the chief minister added.

Only on Friday Monazir said that he was feeling suffocated being a partner of BJP and that the top Janata Dal (United) leadership snap ties with it immediately.

Nitish said that only an authorised office-bearer or spokesperson can speak on behalf of the party.“If anyone has any grudge they are free to come and meet me,” he added.

What is strange is that only last week party spokesman Shivanand Tiwary also called for reviewing the relationship with the BJP but Nitish did not berate him. In fact many in the state felt that Tiwary was speaking on the behalf of Nitish, who, only the other day, appealed to the BJP not to whip up passion after the Ayodhya verdict of September 24.

Nitish did not say anything to Monazir when he and the BJP men clashed near Dak Bungalow roundabout over the issue of Narendra Modi on the NDA’s India Shutdown (Bharat Bandh) day on July 5. Even then it was said that Monazir had the backing of the chief minister.

Nitish’s Saturday public criticism has something to do with Monazir’s home turf, Munger and Begusarai, as Lallan Singh, the rebel Janata Dal (United) MP is certainly making a big impact there. Lallan is MP from Munger, which is Monazitr’s home town. Monazir represents Begusarai in Parliament.
