Patna,(BiharTimes): Five people were injured in violent clashes between henchmen of a builder and Dalits of Jagdeo Path in Patna on Tuesday. Four persons, including the builder, have been arrested after large scale violence in which fire-arms were reportedly used.
According to police sources the local Dalits resisted an attempt by the builder to get constructed a building on a plot of land which the former claimed was their graveyard. |
The Dalits said that they have been allotted the land by the government several years back and many dear and near ones are buried there. Top administrative and police officials, who rushed to the spot, said that the claim of both the parties are subject to confirmation and probe is on to ascertain the truth.
Shops were forced to be closed down after the incident which also led to the traffic jam for quite sometime. According to repots firing also took place in the clash. All the injured have been rushed to the Patna Medical College and Hospital.
