.Patna,(BiharTimes): Janata Dal(U) on Thursday once again demanded the recall of Governor Devanand Konwar from Bihar.
In a letter to Home Minister P Chidambaram, Rajya Sabha MP and the national spokesperson of the party, Shivanand Tiwary, said that Konwar was not fit to hold the office because of his conduct and could come in the way of cordial relations between the Centre and the state.

Accusing him of “disregarding the statutes” in appointment of Vice Chancellors of universities in the state Tiwary claimed that the Home Minister has assured him that he would get the allegations examined.
He said under the statutes of Bihar, appointments to the post of Vice Chancellors are made by the Chancellor in consultation with the state government but that was not followed in the appointments last week.
