.Patna,(BiharTimes): After Mahatama Gandhi Setu near Patna and Rajendra rail-cum-road Bridge near Mokamah it is the turn of the Vikramshila bridge between Bhagalpur and Naugachia that needs immediate repair.
This bridge connects NH-80 and NH-31 and it got built only a decade ago.

According to reports the girder space on the road between pillar 2 and 3 increased by around four inches. This is an indication that either the pillars have leaned in opposite directions or moved from their foundation. In any situation, experts say the threat is on the structure of the bridge.
Officials of Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation (BSBCC) said that due to the pressure of river the girder space could have increase.
According to the Executive Engineer of the Corporation, Bhagwan Ram, the state Public Works Department has been assigned the work for maintenance of the bridge and the department should immediately inform the government about it.
On the other hand Birendar Kumar, Executive Engineer of Public Works Department was quoted in the media as saying that it was the responsibility of BSBCC to maintain the structure of the bridge.
