.Patna,(BiharTimes): The Rs 80 crore Railway Over-Bridge built by the East Central Railways in Bailey Road in Rukunpura was inaugurated by the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday.

Senior Railway officials, including the General Manager, East Central Railway, K K Srivastava, as well as officials of Bihar government were also present on the occasion. The road construction minister of Bihar, Nand Kishore Yadav, presided over the function.
However, Nitish made no speech on the occasion.The completion of the ROB would reduce traffic rush on Bailey Road from Saguna Mor in Danapur to Dak Bungalow in Patna.
This is the seventh ROB in Patna, five of them built in the last one decade. The sudden rise in the ROBs in Patna is being attributed to the three Railway Ministers Bihar produced in last few years.
Both the Pataliputra station and this ROB are part of the mega Ganga bridge project of the East Central Railway near Digha. It is likely to be completed by the end of 2012.
Railway sources said that the present ROB has been constructed with the latest technology. It is a four-lane facilities providing connectivity to people from both east and west ends of Patna. Its length is about one km, including the alignment portion of the bridge.
The ROB has architectural beauty with full quality control over materials used for the construction work. Special care has been taken as it crosses over the old canal located on the Bailey Road.
