Doyen of Indian History and a living legend in academics of Bihar Prof R S Sharma's death is a great loss to Bihar. Whole new generation of our country understood the nuances of ancient history through his books. His simple life style and objective observation of history is a great contribution to the country. He preferred to live in Patna after retirement from Delhi University where he served as a head of the deptt.

I still remember his speech in Delhi University during Mandal agitation. He strongly defended reservation and at the same time interestingly narrated how is classmate BP Mandal was only student with own cook in the hostel at that time. My deep condolence to his departed soul. And solute from his fellow history student.
