Patna,(BiharTimes): Justice Ajay Kumar Tripathi of the Patna High Court on Friday refused to vacate its stay on admission to the newly introduced MBBS course at Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS). The Court posted the matter for final disposal on August 29.

Incidentally, the deadline to admit students ends on August 31. If the Court allows the IGIMS, it will have to admit 100 students by that day.
Government sources said that the admission process will be complete within two days if the judgment comes in favour of the government on August 29.
The state government and the IGIMS had filed applications for vacating the stay order so that admissions to the Institute could be completed by August 31.
While posting the matter for final disposal on Monday, Justice Tripathi said the Court does not find any merit in the applications and hence they are being dismissed.
The High Court issued the stay order on the admission process of IGIMS hearing a petition filed by Kumar Kshitiz Abhinav. He sought a stay on the admission to the MBBS course in IGIMS on the basis of the state combined entrance examination.
Additional advocate-general Lalit Kishore, while appearing for IGIMS, submitted that the Medical Council of India (MCI) would withdraw temporary recognition given to the Institute to start the MBBS course if the admissions were not completed by August 31.
