Patna,(BiharTimes): A division bench of the Patna High Court comprising Chief Justice Rekha M Doshit and Justice Birendra Prasad Verma on Friday set aside Thursday’s single bench order staying admissions to the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences.
The Court thus cleared the decks for admission to the newly introduced MBBS course at Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS), giving respite to hundreds of medical aspirants.

The institute will now be able to admit students following the merit list prepared on the basis of the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination (BCECE).
After the Court order the IGIMS authorities announced to start admissions from Monday. The last date ends on August 31, that is Wednesday. If Eid falls on August 31––it depends on the sighting of the moon––the office may be declared close.
According to its director, Dr Arun Kumar, the IGIMS will have to fill up 85 seats through BCECE counselling. It has already received the names of 15 students to be admitted in the CBSE-All India Pre-Medical Test quota. He hoped that the process would be over by August 31 as directed by a Supreme Court judgement.
The state government and the IGIMS on Friday moved the Division Bench after the single judge bench of Justice Ajay Kumar Tripathi refused to vacate its stay on Thursday.
