Patna Central SP receives threat calls

Patna,(BiharTimes): Superintendent of Police (Patna Central) Shivdeep Lande on Saturday received threat calls from anonymous callers who threatened him with dire consequences on his official mobile number.
According to reports the caller claimed to be an area commander of a Maoist outfit. He asked Lande not to take much interest in the case related to Kundan Singh, a notorious criminal, who was arrested in New Delhi recently. Among other crimes, Kundan, was wanted in connection with the murder of a bus operator in Patna a few weeks ago.

The caller asked the SP either to mend his ways or face the consequences. The threat call was made around 1.28 on Saturday afternoon when the officer was sitting in his chamber located in north Gandhi Maidan. The caller also threatened to blow up the police headquarters and Lande’s office.

The caller reminded that the outfit members had earlier attacked Jehanabad jail and freed their members lodged there.

Lande told the media that there was a missed call on his mobile number at around 1.26 PM. When he did not respond, another call was made around two minutes later.

The SP said that a station diary has been lodged at Gandhi Maidan police station against an unidentified person. Sources said the call was made from Bhagwanganj-Masaurhi area in Patna rural on the border of Jehanabad.

However, it is not yet confirmed whether the caller was really a Maoist or not, as Kundan was basically a criminal.
