Sharad Yadav’s stand splits Janata Dal (United) on Anna issue

Patna,(BiharTimes): The stand taken by the national presidents of the Janata Dal (United) and Rashtriya Janata Dal, Sharad Yadav and Lalu Prasad Yadav respectively, against Anna Hazare in Parliament last week has landed the Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar in a difficult position.

Nitish always took a pro-Anna stand and the latter too reciprocated by giving him certificate, though there is no dearth of people in the state who feels that corruption has increased manifold in Bihar under him notwithstanding some recent legislations.
In the past Sharad took stands which seriously embarrassed Nitish though the former earned applaud from MPs of his own party and other parties too, especially RJD and Congress. His stand on Women’s Reservation Bill in particular is known to all. “I would take poison rather than allow Parliament pass the Bill,” he had once said in Parliament while participating in a debate. This caused a lot of embarrassment to Nitish and BJP.
Though some Janata Dal (United) leaders close to Sharad are downplaying his tirade against Team Anna by stating that everything would soon be all right his speech in Lok Sabha is causing a lot of discomfort to the party as such. Incidentally, it came at the time when names of two senior Janata Dal (United) leaders, three time chief minister, Dr Jagannath Mishra and MP Jagdish Sharma, figured prominently in the fodder scam case lodged in the CBI court. In that way the two found themselves clubbed with Lalu Yadav.
Sharad never misses any opportunity to assert himself within the party. He knows that as the senior most Yadav leaders within the Janata Dal (United) the Bihar chief minister can not afford to antagonize him. Besides, his status as the NDA convenor also keeps the BJP tightlipped on a number of occasions.

Sharad Yadav and his kind of politicians are a baggage and burden to Bihar and spot on the clean image of Nitish Kumar. I am unable to understand that for what compulsion Mr Kumar like leader is carrying this baggage, who had definately no political life ahead, no remarkable history as a sharp and good politician and whose record has been out and out as a uselessly vocal and disturbing politician for always. World knows that today in Bihar, no politician at present is even comparable to Nitish Kumar's stature and his mass appeal. None cares and even knows who is next to Nitish Kumar in JDU. If someother name would emerge to some remote distance, it would be a little bit of Sushil Modi. La-loo, Paswaan and Sharad Yadav, actually form the ultimate trinity of really backward mentality politicians, and Sharad Yadav's association with Nitish and JDU is terribly misfit. Nitish and Sharad entirely different personality, maturity and thinking style. While one is progressive and able to change with time to follow the rule of successful evolution and survival, another one is terribly outdated, destined for extinction.

His company has more sync with Laloo and Ram Vilas, and as fitting as their old slogan: "Laloo Sharrad Ram Vilas, Taari Piyo Teen Gilaas!"....so these guys are good only for Taari shots and should be left to some dingy khatal, the best job they could do, aspired and tried to spread in entire Bihar at their hay days. Since Bihar has moved ahead, has different aspiration and even a poor thinks and talks about Bihari identity and progress, the Taari is stinking much more than before and these stinking guys are best fit to enjoy it only, instead of power gallery of Bihar. And if they don't agree then their electoral record in past two three times will make them to believe this where one has got a single man party, LJP, left only with Paswaan and another has got a party which has been reduced almost like Paswaan's if not exactly like LJP. They are not even able to stand like an opposition party in Bihar!

Now coming to Sharrad Yadav, his hangover of stinking Taari seems to be as deep as his old friends, and this is why whenever this man opens mouth in the Parliament, he stinks: be it any national issue like Women's bill or prodevelopment issue like anti-corruption movement of public and suitable bill, he still stinks! Either he should come out of this false hangover or better fight election from anywhere outside of Madhepura, without using Nitish's name, on his own. I will not ask him to fight election from RJD or LJP as that will definately give him excuse that name of Laloo Paswan was enough to book a defeat. So better he does it alone and learn the truth about himself as a politician and then think how he is harming those who are giving him respect who he actually does not deserve. He is not Nitish but Nitish is giving him some source of survival. Many departed from JDU, but nothing happened to JDU, many conspired against JDU and Nitish, nothing worked, but stature of Nitish not only become fatherly for Bihar, but he is becoming fatherly figure for entire nation, whenever the talk of best PM candidate erupts. He is one of the few leaders at present who is equally respected by all national parties be it opposition or ruling barring likes of loosers like RJD and LJP. Almost every Bihari is enjoying and loving the newly discovered respect for Bihar due to this man, though he may have some flaws but certainly not enough to make him even an inch nearer to his distant maligned old friends, forget about putting him in the same compartment. Nitish Kumar should understand that association of vegabond phoney leaders like Sharad Yadav is no good for any one, not even for him and Bihar. He is better to be left to have stinking Taari with his old friends while Bihar sails fast in the fresh water of development and progress. Bihar does not need these expired stuffs, it has forgotten to survive as a scavenger any more.

Very conveniently your list excludes all Congressmen.

The character of socialists are very strange they cannot remain united after some time of unity! These things have been refelected on Indian political scenes, particularly in the context of Bihar after independence-they have formed as many parties and split many times-Dr Ram Manohar Lohia, who was leading the socialist movement in the country, had split the party many times. Similarly many leaders including Madhu Loimaye, Karpoori Thakur, Charan Singh etc could not remain united and advantage of split in anti-congress votes always favoured Congress -and the party ruled the country for many years-in the process weaknesses in left parties could also not be ruled out for the advantage of Congress rule in the country!
With regards to current differences of JD(U) president Sharad Yadav and party stalwart and chief minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar on many issues , particularly the agitation of Anna Hazare against corruption have started giving the same signal that socialists cannot remain united for long time- in the current game plan while Sharad has acted like real socialist and criticised the Anna & company Ltd agitation on constitutional and pro-poor and backward and dalit planks like his earlier protest over Women reservation bill, Nitish has adopted conservative approach toeing the line of BJP as he is CM and his government is itself in rampant corruption while sharing power with BJP. Apart from that Nitish nature in socialist party from initial days reflects his authoritarian style and not listening to saner advice of party colleagues on important issues. Sharad is reluctantly in the camp of BJP while Nitish is supporting BJP for his englightened self-interest and to remain in power by ousting more mass based leader like Laloo and Paswan and also many in the left camp-so that split in anti BJP-JD(U)vote banks favour NDA camp.Result-even after getting maximum number of seats by NDA in the last elections, percentage of votes secured by NDA was much lower in comparision to Laloo, Ram Bilas and Congress etc.
Differences between Nitish and Sharad will be sharpened in near future and realignment of political forces in Bihar cannot be ruled out. In the process of antagonising party leaders right from his Samata party days, Nitish had also played cruel jokes with his mentor George Fernandes, who had given him eyes and ears to get rid of Laloo and George's mantra fulfilled his dream to become CM of Bihar by uniting with BJP and in the process he ousted Laloo and Ram Bilas!Nitish gradually antagonised many imporatant party leaders and imposed his views in the organisation, resultig into many of important party leaders sidelined because of dictatorial attitude of Nitish in the wake of his success in the last assembly elections! Now Sharad as national head of the party has started asserting and conflict of interest over important issues in the organisation is coming to the fore.
