Patna,(BiharTimes): MLAs and MLCs of ruling BJP and Janata Dal (United) played the role of opposition on Monday, the second day of the Winter Session of the state Assembly, when they raised storm over the increasing role of bureaucracy in running the state and complete marginalization of political executive, that is, ministers.

In the Council the BJP MLC Harendra Pratap accused that the state is not being run by the ministers but the bureaucrats.
Harendra Pratap, while raising the issue of non-allotment of flats to the Legislators, squarely held the bureaucrats responsible for it. He and other NDA members openly exposed the weakness of the ministers stating that they are completely helpless. This notwithstanding the fact that the Building Construction Minister, Damodar Rawat, tried to defend the state government on the issue.
In the Assembly Izhar Ahmed of Janata Dal (United) and other MLAs openly alleged that the state government had no control over its own bureaucrats.
The ministers were struck dumbfounded as they never expected such a sharp opposition-type criticism from the members of the treasury bench in both the houses of Assembly.
Later while talking to newspersons one of the ministers in the Nitish cabinet, Shyam Rajak, tried to defend the state government.
During the last Monsoon and Budget Sessions too many treasury bench members, on a number of occasions. openly criticized their own government. The council of ministers, headed by the chief minister Nitish Kumar, is concerned over this development. The complete elimination of the opposition has not solved their problem as handling treasury bench members is more difficult task for the presiding officers in the respective Houses.
