Three traders killed in Patna district in three days

Patna,(BiharTimes): Three businessmen have been killed in the last three days in Patna district sending panic among the trading community.

On Monday morning the police recovered the body of a wholesale shoe merchant of Ara, Mohammed Raunaq, alias Guddu, from Bihta, about 40 km from Patna. A day earlier he was in Bihta to collect dues from shop he used to supply shoes. He was found shot in the head.

Guddu was a resident of Milky Mohalla under Town police station in Ara. When he did not return till late night, his family-members approached the police. His body was recovered from Lahkhan Tola area.

Late on Saturday night, one Santosh Kumar, owner of three private hostels, was shot dead by one Kissu, said to be his friend, in Kaath Pul area under Khajekala police station.

According to police Santosh was driving a motorcycle and Kissu riding pillion. The latter suddenly whipped out a country-made pistol and shot at Santosh from point-blank range before fleeing the spot. He was later arrested.

The murder, police said, is definitely related to financial transaction.

In another incident on Saturday night, Radheshyam Lal, a hardware trader, was killed while he was closing his shop in Mokama.

He had been receiving extortion calls for almost a month. All shops in Mokama kept their shutters down on Sunday as a mark of protest against the murder.

The police said four people, including the shooter, have been arrested and the murder weapon has also been recovered.
