Probe politicians-Maoists’ nexus: RJD

Patna,(BiharTimes) The main opposition Rashtriya Janata Dal on Monday urged the Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to order a probe into alleged nexus between politicians and Maoists in Bihar.

The Maoists are being patronised by the politicians and the Chief Minister must order a thorough probe into the nexus, RJD spokesperson ShakeelAhmed Khan told reporters.

The former law minister cited the example of Imamganj, the Assembly constituency of the Speaker of the state Assembly, Uday Narayan Choudhary, which is firmly in the grip of Maoists, who are getting political patronage. Khan lost to the Janata Dal (United) from Sherghatty seat, which is just adjacent to Imamganj in Gaya district, in the recently held election.

The RJD spokesman said that Imamganj is a case which requires an independent inquiry adding, it was necessary for people toknow who were the leaders giving patronage to Maoists in Imamganj and other parts of Bihar.

He also sought immediate stoppage to the police action against the innocent people in the garb of Maoists. The arrests made after Maoists activity at Barha village in Gaya district is a glaring example of police highhandedness. He announced that the RJD would launch a protest from Imamganj against the police action from February 5.
