Patna,(BiharTimes): Former Director General of Police (DGP) of Bihar R R Prasad and the member of the State Human Rights Commission, died at his residence at Harding Road in Patna on Sunday. He was 71 and left behind wife, three daughters and a son. His last rites were performed on Monday.

Prasad, a native of Dumraon in Buxar district, was suffering from cancer. He joined the Indian Police Service in 1967. He served as the DGP between 1999 and 2003.
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar condoled his death.
