Patna,(BiharTimes): Chief minister Nitish Kumar said on Thursday that the former judge of the Allahabad High Court V K Trivedi would head a commission constituted by the Bihar government to suggest measures for the uplift of economically backward among the upper castes. |
Speaking on the motion on the Governor's speech he said that his government had decided last month to set up a commission to suggest measures for uplifting the poor among the upper castes.
He said that before the last year Assembly election he wrote on his blog that caste would be relegated to back seat which actually happened. The people of the state have gone ahead of the political parties, which were espousing the cause of different castes. Now the time has come to espouse the cause of Bihar.
Nitish tried to counter the charges levelled by the Leader of Oppostion in the state Assembly, Abdul Bari Siddiqui, on Wednesday. He said that the opposition got full chance in the 15 long years but they squandered the opportunity. He brushed aside the opposition charge of the poor law and order situation and claimed that it has shown a marked improvement.
