Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar will soon constitute Property Tax Board. A decision in this regard was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi in Patna on Thursday.
Those who attended the meeting include State Urban Development minister Prem Kumar, Urban Development Principal Secretary Girish Shankar, Special Secretary D K Shukla and Bihar State Housing Board Managing Director Anupam Kumar Suman. The Board would fix taxes on properties and resolve other related issues. |
Modi, who also holds the finance portfolio, directed the officials to visit other states and undertake comparative study the implementation of the tax fixation systems to have similar type of arrangements in Bihar.
He said the process of fixation of property tax would be completely transparent, simple and impartial.
The meeting was also decided to give concession to those who would pay the holding tax in toto in one go. The finance minister asked the officials to speed up realisation of holding taxes.
