Patna,(BiharTimes): With the appointment of three more acting Vice Chancellors (VCs) the number of those holding this post in Bihar have gone up to five.
The three of them joined their posts on Monday after the term of the present incumbents expire.

The Governor-cum-Chancellor Devanand Konwar made the appointment on Sunday under Section 13 (2) of the Bihar State Universities Act, 1976 and Patna University Act, 1976.
The Dean of Social Science Faculty of Patna University Sudeepto Adhikari, has been appointed acting VC of PU until further order. He is the senior teacher of Geography department. PU VC Shyam Lal’s tenure ended on Monday.
Similarly, the Head of Arabic department of Patna University Mohammad S Zoha has been appointed acting VC of Maulana Mazharul Haq Arabic and Persian University. He will succeed Prof Qamar Ahsan.
Dean of Social Science Faculty BRA Bihar University, Muzaffarpur, Rajendra Mishra has been appointed acting VC of the same university.
A couple of days back acting VCs were appointed for B N Mandal Unviersity, Madhepura and Jai Prakash University, Chapra.
Appointment of VCs has become a bone of contention between Raj Bhawan and the Nitish Kumar government, especially after the appointment of VCs of Magadh University and Veer Kunwar Singh University last April.
