Patna,(BiharTimes): Another mother-son duo lost their lives on Patna-Phulwarisharif route on Sunday morning when a City Bus lost control and
hit them in the pavement. Several others were injured in the incident, which took place near Chitkohra overbridge. Faulty brake is said to be the cause of the accident. |
The victims were identified as Siya Mani Devi, a labourer, and her four year old son Praduman alias Chotu. The injured were rushed to the PMCH where the condition of one of them is said to be serious.
City SP Shivdeep Lande said that the accident took place when the driver lost control while negotiating a sharp turn and rammed into the road side where some persons were sitting. The bus went on to hit the boundary wall of the quarter of the Congress MLC, Jyoti. Both the driver and cleaner managed to escape from the scene.
Immediately after the incident local people blocked the road demanding payment of compensation to the family members of the victims and government job to one member of the family. However, the blockade could be removed only in the evening following the intervention of the district administration.
Only last fortnight a mother and her son were killed and daughter and father injured when a truck hit them while they were returning from school on their two-wheeler.
