Patna,(BiharTimes): A youth Ravi Prakash was arrested from Bunyadih village on the Gaya-Arwal border following a hoax call which warned that a bomb has been planted at the Biscomaun Tower in Patna on Sunday. A police team led by the city superintendent of police (SP) Shivdeep Lande, carried out extensive search operation in the building for 45 minutes after an anonymous caller, claiming to be an ISI agent, rang up the police control room around 12:30 PM.
Son of Ram Badan Singh, Ravi Prakash, who was arrested from the Arwal-Gaya border, is being brought to the state capital for interrogation. The call was made from cell phone number 9955737078.
According to the SP the district control room received a call threatening to blow up the building in less than an hour. The police conducted a stringent check in and around the area for safety purpose. A sniffer dogs were used to scan the building and made to check all the vehicles, especially those lying unattended, in and around building.
It needs to be recalled that several floors of the building are unoccupied. Some people, who work in the building, have been rounded up by the police for questioning.
Biscomaun Tower houses several government and private offices.
The police sources said Ravi was arrested on the basis of tower location. It could be a prank. He will be asked about the same.
According to eyewitnesses the police search created a flutter among the people in the area, especially those visiting the revolving restaurant on the top floor of the building.
