According to police Vidya, a resident of Railway Colony, Khagaul, was in Patna to spend summer vacation. He had an affair with Archana Kumari, a BA student of IGNOU, for the last two years. But the relationship soured a bit recently, especially after her marriage was fixed to some other boy.

Archana and her two acquaintances Dolly and Rita Devi were detained after the incident. She said that Vidya called her up to Gandhi Maidan on Monday morning.

She took Rita and Dolly with herself late in the afternoon. As she said the final no to Vidya’s proposal he took poison and stabbed himself several times.

A large number of people gathered at the spot and took the boy to PMCH. They even tried to ask something from the three girls. However, soon the police arrived and took them for interrogation. Two hours later Vidya succumbed to his injuries.

However, eyewitnesses had a different story to tell. They told mediapersons that one of the girls stabbed the boy. City SP Shivdeep Lande said police would wait till the post mortem report comes.
