Nitish govt flayed for stalling Adjournment Motion on Forbesganj firing

Patna,(BiharTimes): Coming down heavily on the Nitish Kumar government for stalling an Adjournment Motion in the Assembly on Forbesganj police firing Leader of the Opposition in Bihar Assembly Abdul Bari Siddique said on Friday that the state government was trying to avoid responsibility for the incident that claimed four lives of the minority community, including an infant and a pregnant woman.

The RJD members wanted to bring an Adjournment Motion in the State Assembly to discuss Forbesganj police firing.

He said the State government stalled the Motion on the pretext that the incident was already being probed by a Judicial Commission.

The Leader of Opposition flayed the ruling coalition for not allowing discussion on the issues being probed by Judicial Commission. Citing example of Bhagalpur riots of 1989 he said that it was discussed in the state Legislature even when the Judicial Commission had been probing it.

Meanwhile, a delegation of several Muslim organizations and individuals paid a visit to Forbesganj on Friday. It was led by social activist Naiyar Fatmi. Among others who went to Bhajanpura included the state president of Jamaat-e-Islami, Naiyar-uz-Zaman, state president of All India Students’ Federation, Parwez Ahmed, president and general secretary of Momin Conference, Bihar, Zafar Imam Ansari and Arif Ansari, Jamiat-ul-Ulema Hind’s Maulana Nazim and Maulana Anwar-ul-Haque and Bihar Rabita Committee’s Afzal Khan.
