Patna,(BiharTimes): Two days after the lynching of Doctor Bhudeo Singh allegedly by inmates inside the Gopalganj jail the state government on Tuesday named a new IG (Prisons) and district magistrate.The decision came after the doctors all over the state went on strike in protest against the tragic incident. They have been on the warpath for the last two days, demanding compensation for the bereaved family and protection to the doctors.

Gopalganj DM Pankaj Kumar Pal has been made Joint Secretary Agriculture while Special Secretary Agriculture Pankaj Kumarwill replace him in Gopalganj.
IG (Prisons) Ramesh Lal, who was due to retire on Tuesday evening, was replaced by Special Secretary Revenue and Land Reforms Anand Kishore. Kishore will hold the dual charge.
The state government has also announced an ex gratia of Rs 10 lakh for the bereaved family and a government job to a kin of the deceased.
Meanwhile, several more administrative transfer have been carried out. CK Anil, who was waiting for posting, has been made Adviser, Bihar State Planning Board in place of Dinesh Singh Bisht who has been made ICDS director. Palka Sahni, on her return from long leave, has been made Beltron MD while Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority MD Anshuli Arya has been made Bihar Women Development Corporation MD. Arya will hold additional charge of Bihar State Child Rights Protection Commission as its MD N Vijaylakshmi has been made Secretary, Agriculture.
