Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar said that at this stage when the final draft of the Bill is not yet prepared it would be premature and not in consonance with the spirit of the Constitution to make any comment on the Lokpal Bill.
Talking to newsmen on Friday he said Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee's letter clearly hinted that the Centre had not yet prepared the final draft of the proposed Lokpal Bill. |
The Union government has sought chief ministers feedback on issues like whether the Prime Minister and senior judges should be covered by the Lokpal Bill or not.
The Bill is meant to be presented to Parliament before the end of this month.
Nitish regretted that it is rather surprising that on such a vital issue, responses of the chief ministers and other stake holders are being sought in such a hurried and casual manner.
