Patna,(BiharTimes): Bihar cadre-1977 batch IPS officer Arun Choudhary
has been made Special Director General of Central Industrial Security
Force (CISF). He was earlier Special Director Intelligence Bureau. He will take charge on June 7. |
According to reports Chaudhary is junior most IPS officer of 1977 batch from Bihar.
Yet sources in police department said that he
got promoted to the rank of DG only because of his deputation at the Centre. He had served as the SP Patna in early 1990s.
Abhayanand, V Narayanan, Shafi Alam, Ashok Gupta, and R C Sinha
are all senior to him in the same 1977 batch yet they are all still ADG rank officers, thanks to the attitude of the state government.
In fact the first three of them have been empanelled in the DG rank
by the Union Home Ministry yet the Bihar government is in no
hurry to promote them. This notwithstanding the fact that there
exists three vacancies at the DG level in Bihar.
Besides, the present DGP, Neelmani is retiring on August 31 while DG
(Homeguards) U S Dutt a month later.
Not only that the state government is in no mood to release them for
the central deputation either. Abhayanand and Shafi Alam took the plea of their serious illness too yet their requests felt on the deaf ears
of Bihar government.
