Kisan Radio Station to be launched soon

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Bihar Agriculture University, Sabour in Bhagalpur district, is all set to launch the Kisan Radio Station by the end of the year. The programmes would be aired for an hour in the morning and an hour in the evening.

Farmers living within the aerial distance of 20-kilometers would initially get access to it. They would be able to keep track of new farming techniques as well as latest researches on augmenting agricultural yields or tackling plant and agri-diseases.

Farmers would not only be getting news and guidance related to farming, but would also receive entertainment programmes like lokgeet (regional music), folk songs and other related items besides health consciousness programmes targetting families.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, has granted the permission to establish the Kisan Radio Station at BAU.

Reports said that the initial plan was to broadcast KRS programmes up to 100 kilometers of aerial distance. However, they only received permission for 20 kilometers. The farmers living in villages under Kahalgaon, Naugachia, Nathnagar and adjoining blocks would have much to gain from the Radio Station.
