Patna,(BiharTimes): A few weeks after scrapping the MLA/MLC Local Area Development Fund the Bihar government on Thursday urged the Centre to release an additional six per cent contingency fund to the state to enable it to develop the required infrastructure for the implementation of the MPLAD scheme in the state. |
Talking to the mediapersons in the BJP state headquarters the deputy chief minister-cum-finance minister, Sushil Kumar Modi, said that the contingency fund had become necessary as the state government had abolished MLA quota fund and the district magistrates had been relieved of the responsibility of approving the development schemes under their respective jurisdiction.
He said that after the abolition of MLA quota fund, districts lack any agency to implement the MPLAD scheme. The DMs have now been assigned the duty of only reviewing and monitoring the progress of development schemes.
Referring to the party matter Modi said that a training camp would be held at Bodh Gaya on May 7 and 8 to apprise the MLAs and MLCs about party’s history and ideology, so that they can serve their constituencies in a better way.
BJP's in charge of Bihar, Anant Kumar, co-in charge Dharmendra Pradhan and party's national training in charge Ram Naik would attend the two-day training camp.
He also informed that on May 10 a conference of BJP chief ministers and deputy chief ministers has been organized in New Delhi.
