Patna,(BiharTimes): Sixteen people, including four girls were arrested following a raid in a restaurant at Frazer Road in Patna.
The police carried the raid in the wee hours of Sunday following tip off that they were involved in some indecent acts. |
A four-wheeler, three motorcycles, music instruments, one liquor bottle and five empty ones were also seized from the restaurant.
According to the Senior SP (SSP), Patna, Alok Kumar, a Gandhi Maidan police team raided the restaurant and found 12 people and four women red-handed.
During interrogation, the police came to know that, Jafar Khan, one of those arrested, worked as a pimp. The restaurant-owner Satyam Raj Raju had called Jafar for the programme but he escaped from the spot. Raids are on to arrest Raju, a resident of Tripolia in Alamganj.
The arrested women told the police that they were brought here on payment of Rs 2,000 per night.
Besides Jafar, those arrested are Shakti Kumar, Suresh Prasad, Dilip Kumar, Navneet Kumar, Ranveer Kumar, Deepak Kumar, Lokesh Kumar, Prashant Khare, Rama Kumar, Mani and Manoj Kumar.
The police did not disclose the identities of the arrested women or the place they were brought from.
