Patna, (BiharTimes): Two months after a complaint was made to the chief minister the police on Monday arrested five NGO workers and submitted chargesheet in a local court against them. They were accused of misappropriating public funds under the Muskan project, which aims to eradicate child labour in Bihar. |
The chargesheet was submitted in the court of the chief judicial magistrate Surendra Pratap Singh who transferred the case to the court of of judicial magistrate Sachi Mishra for trial.
The latter posted the case for hearing on May 17. Those arrested are Gyan Prakash, Akhileshwar Singh, Ajay Kumar Pandey, Vijendra Tiwari and Swami Jitendra. They were sent to jail on various charges, including misappropriation of funds.
It needs to be recalled that a complaint of embezzlement of fund was lodged before the chief minister during the Janata Darbar on March 12.
