50 girls imparted training by CRPF

Patna,(BiharTimes): The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), as part of its civil action programme, has imparted commando training to 50 girls, mostly of Maoist-infested Gaya district, for a period of three months.
The girls, mostly below 20, would now be able to fight Maoists, defend themselves when in danger as well as stand a chance to get appointed as security guards.

This is the first time that CRPF has imparted commando training to girls. Earlier this year, it had imparted a similar three-month training to 28 youths of the Naxalite-hit Mohanpur, Konch, Manpur, Imamganj, Dumaria, Barachatti, and Wazirganj blocks of Gaya district. The training was completed in June this year.

The girls came from diverse places. Twenty-five were from Wazirganj, six from Cherkiand and two from Sherghati in Gaya district, five from Patna, three from Banka and one from Nawada district. Apart from that, four girls were from Gumla, two from Simdega and one from Latehar in Jharkhand and one from Assam.

The girls also took part in a passing-out parade at the headquarters of CRPF 159 Battalion near Ghughritand bypass on Gaya-Bodh Gaya riverside road on October 26. Certificates were also distributed among the girls on the occasion.

According to Director General of the Bihar sector of CRPF, Aftab Ahmad Khan the paramilitary force has also undertaken the challenge to build up the career of the youths from the Maoist-affected areas, who had diverted from the mainstream. He also distributed certificates among the girls at the passing out-cum-convocation programme.

He called upon the girls to not get diverted from their goals and respect the uniform that has been provided by CRPF on completion of the training programme.

Now, the girls would be looking for opportunities for jobs of security guards in private security agencies.
The 28 youths, who completed their commando training in June this year, have already got jobs with different private security agencies.

Reports said that Jan Jagran Sansthan, which was instrumental in providing training the 28 youths, played a key role in helping them to get jobs in various companies.
