None of the 18 degree colleges came up in last 16 months

Patna,(BiharTimes): When Nitish Kumar undertook Vishwas Yatra last year he announced that a degree college would be opened in each sub-division of the state which has no such institution.
About a year and a half later none of the colleges have been opened in the 18 sub-divisions of 10 districts where he is schedule to visit during the Sewa Yatra which is to start from November 9.

The truth is that no serious effort has been made in this direction as even land has not been acquired for this purpose. In some places the land acquisition work is going on at very slow pace.
In such a situation the chief minister may face questions from the people of 18 sub-divisions spread in 10 districts which he is to visit in the next few days.
Incidentally the human resource development (HRD) department has directed officials across 10 districts to settle all cases related with primary and secondary education under the public grievance cell ahead of chief minister’s Yatra.
The department is reportedly upset with some of the district magistrates for not being able to complete the land acquisition process for setting up the colleges.
Reports said that the HRD department has also directed its officials to update all works related to the Sarv Sikhsa Yojana, Bicycle Yojana, Poshak Yojana, upgrade of primary schools to middle schools, upgrade of middle schools to high schools, mid-day meal and other schemes related to the education department.
Nitish would be visiting West Champaran, Sheikhpura, Muzaffarpur, Saharsa, Banka, Aurangabad, Purnea, Rohtas, Madhubani, and Siwan.
