Patna,(BiharTimes): Kirti Chandra Saha, a 1975-batch IAS officer, will be the new chairman of the Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC). He replaces former chief secretary R J M Pillai whose tenure ends on November 15. Saha was development commissioner of Bihar when he offered to apply for voluntary retirement after Navin Kumar was made the chief secretary of Bihar.

Saha was scheduled to retire in March 2013. Since he was not made the chief secretary he applied for voluntary retirement citing personal reasons.
Sources said that the state government had the power to waive the three-month notice period which a bureaucrat is supposed to serve after filing an application for voluntary retirement.
Former ADG Rajyavardhan Sharma has been appointed a member of the BPSC. He retired from the IPS last month.
