Patna,(BiharTimes): In a statement which is likely to be interpreted in many ways Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said on Monday that Rahul Gandhi was a natural leader of the Congress. However, he maintained that selecting a leader is an internal matter of the Congress party.

Talking to the reporters on the sidelines of the Janata Darbar he said it is for the Congress to decide which assignments the party would be giving to whom and when. But it is obvious that Rahul Gandhi is a natural choice for the party, he added.
Nitish denied the report that he had ever said that Rahul is an immature politician.
To another question, he said he was yet to know whether his party, Janata Dal (United) would have an electoral understanding with its senior partner BJP in Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.
He said JD(U) had an alliance with BJP in last Assembly election in Uttar Pradesh. But what would happen this time is not known to him yet, he said.
Political observers are of the view that Nitish’s statement on Rahul is a pointer to the fact that the Bihar chief minister always wants to keep his door open to Congress. After all his recent diatribe against Team Anna has been applauded by several central leaders of the party.
Just before the 2009 Lok Sabha election result Nitish dropped enough hint to tell the Congress that give special status to Bihar and take support of Janata Dal (United) MPs in return. However, it is other thing that Congress performed very well and did not need support from outside UPA parties.
