Patna,(BiharTimes): The skeleton of Anant Kumar alias Shubham, son of a BJP leader Devendra Kumar Lal, was recovered by Patna Police from near Kutchery Ghat in Danapur sub-division of Patna district on Friday eight days after he disappeared. |
A Class-X student of Anant Vihar Public School, Ambedkar Path, Rupuspur, Anant had gone missing after he left his house at Amba Vihar Colony under the Rupuspur police station with his friends on November 10. His family members had on November 11 lodged a missing complaint with the police station concerned.
Police had interrogated his four friends Vishal, Sandip, Amit and Shubham in this connection.
According to Patna City SP, West, Upendra Sharma, who visited the ghat, Anant’s four friends told the police that they had gone to Kutchery Ghat to take bath in river Ganga on the occasion of Kartik Purnima when Anant drowned in the river. He said that he had separately interrogated the four friends and they were also taken to the ghat for verification.
The family members of Anand identified the skeleton with the help of his clothes, his slippers and T-shirt. The skeleton would be sent for forensic test for confirmation. The police recovered head, thigh bones and pelvis from the ghat. A police official said that it seems that the body had been eaten up by jackals.
Though no arrest has been made the police were investigating all angles in the case.
Police said that it appeared that the friends did not inform family members of Anant about his drowning out of fear.
