Patna,(BiharTimes): After much dilly-dallying the Bihar government finally enhanced the retirement age of University teachers and doctors of the Bihar Health Services cadre and Ayush doctors.
Chief minister Nitish Kumar made this announcement on Friday in a function organized to mark the completion tof six years of his government.

Doctors and teachers have been demanding the enhancement of retirement age as has been done by several states.
The retirement age of medical college teachers and doctors of some other medical institutions have already been raised to 65 years. The announcement would now be taken up and approved by the state cabinet.
HRD minister Prashant Kumar Shahi said that the new retirement age of university and college teachers would be effective from July 2010.
